Don’t take employee motivation for granted. Conduct regular “motivation checks” to find out whether workers are engaged or bored with their jobs. Ask them what tasks they enjoy, what frustrates them, what they wish they could do, and what resources they need. You’ll stay on top of their morale issues and show that you’re dedicated to maintaining a workplace where they’re both satisfied and challenged. —Adapted from the OC Metro website
